Dice Systems

The Dice system needs to be more stable. I am testing out some ideas.

Stability

  • Base Attribute + Bonus + 1d10.
  • Difficulty ratings range from 1 to 50.
  • Failing the assigned difficulty by more than 10 is a botch.
  • Beating the assigned difficulty by more than 10 is a critical.
  • Rolling a 1 means you negate the previous roll and roll Base Attribute - 1d10 instead.
  • Rolling a 10 allows you to roll an additional 1d10 and add that to your roll. Continue until no more 10's are rolled.

Flexibility

  • (Base Attribute)d6 + Bonus.
  • Can also use d10's but may be too unpredictable.
  • Difficulty ratings range from 1 to 25.
  • Failing the assigned difficulty by more than 6 is a botch.
  • Beating the assigned difficulty by more than 6 is a critical.
  • Both botches and criticals increase in magnitude for each multiple of 6 the difficulty is passed or failed by.
  • If all rolled dice show 6's, roll again and add that roll to your previous roll.
