Card Types

Page history last edited by Benji 3 yrs ago

Cards are divided into types based on their purpose and how they may be played.

Stuff cards may be played in front of you, face down or face up. Players may generally only carry 5 stuff cards at once, the rest must remain in their hands. Players must pay the costs of Stuff cards when they are flipped or played face-up, but may play them face-down for no cost.

Among Stuff cards are 4 sub-types: Tricks, Treats, Traps, and Treasures.

Tricks are generally played face-down. When a trigger (specified on each card) occurs, the trick may be sprung upon an unsuspecting opponent or opponents!

Treats are generally played face-down as well. When a trigger (specified on each card) occurs, the treat may be revealed to gain a bonus!

Traps are the most important stuff cards. These cards are played face-up and are used to obtain the Pogi Fruit which fall from the tree. If a Trap card is not face up when Pogi Fruit fall, you don't get any!

Treasures are usually played face-up and give a bonus to the character who is using them.

Pogi Fruit cards are the most common cards in the game. Each Pogi Fruit card has a number on it. At the beginning of each player's turn, the top card of the Tree pile is flipped face-up. If it is a Pogi Fruit card, a number of Pogi fruit is distributed among the Trap cards in play, starting with the last player's traps (that is the player to the right of the current player) and moving counter-clockwise. If a player has more than 1 Trap card in play, they may choose which trap receives Pogi Fruit first. If you get a Pogi Fruit Card in your hand, it doesn't really help you. Your best bet is to discard it to pay for one of your other cards.
