AMDA is a special covert unit within the Guardian Sword, which eliminates threats and covers up magical anomalies. Magic has long been thought to be dead, and AMDA wishes it to remain so. Though they are no friends of the Vampire underworld, they maintain a shaky peace: Neither wishes that the populace discover their domestic predators; one for fear of mass hysteria, the other for fear of starvation and hunters. As such, AMDA does not hesitate to kill a Vampire who cannot control his bloodthirst, and the vampires never falter in their decisions to reciprocate.

AMDA was primarily created to hunt down the Demons which have recently been infiltrating the city and possessing the populace. Something seems to be drawing them to the city, though nobody is sure what the culprit is. Though possessions have been known about for millenia, they have not been seen, especially not in these numbers, for a long time.

AMDA is divided into five active teams, a backbone agency, and the Council of Seven. The active teams are named after the first letters of an ancient alphabet: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Episilon, with Alpha being the highest ranked, most skilled team, and Epsilon being the least experienced, lowest ranked team.

Teams generally consist of four or five members including Demon-Hunter, Wraith, Phoenix, and Bruiser; these teams are generally lead by the Demon-Hunter, but are occaisionally led by other members of them team, depending on rank or experience.
